Their reading at 1300 is WNW, so WNW would be logical.

We heard back from Gil Compo, and he says the science team would like to see both values.

In this case, Stuart, just record the first, top, value, and I'll add in the second one when I do the voyage. Don't bother going back to change anything.

If this happens in the future, we need to record both values such as 30.20 | 30.03. Also, it would be helpful to have a note in the Type: Other; Subtype: Instruments when the double readings start and when they end. Include any note from the Event Page that mentions why they are doing this, or what barometers are being recorded. In the case of Kearsarge, the Event log was silent about why and what.

OK will do from page 151.
Some pages they have both 1 and 2 reading on the same page. I guess I will have to put say 0000 to 0800 2 readings 0800 to 1200 1 reading, 1300 to 2000 2 readings 2100 to 2400 1 reading.
That's a lot of typing.

Sorry, Stuart, my note was vague about in the future. I meant for future voyages. So don't bother entering the double values. I will do them when I calculate the voyage. And the Event/Other/Instrument comment just needs to be entered once they start, which was way back when. And, if you don't see any more double readings for a few days, you can just put in a note that they seem to have stopped. We don't need a comment each time there's a break, just something to say, "They've started" the first time you see one and then "they seem to have ended" when you haven't seen any for a few days. I can also enter that when I do the voyage calculations.

Also, 30.23 | 30.03 will not trigger a verification warning, but 30.23 30.03 will. In any case, you don't enter any double readings for this particular voyage. I will pick them up when I do the voyage calculations.

I have no problem entering double readings from now on, you have to much to do as it is.
I can edit the XLM from when they started hopefully without a problem.

Thanks, Stuart, but it will be easier for me to enter the values myself directly into my spreadsheet. If you do it, both readings will come in one column, and I will have to manually delete each reading from one and then copy it into another column. Or, I will have to write a macro to do that. Considering that this may be a one-off occurrence, it's easier for me to add them in when I do the voyage calculations. If we see it for another voyage, I will write a macro to handle them, but I'd just sooner do it this way for now.

OK. Some past ones are done but I will only do the new log ones from now on.

I guess you will have to check each page from 0141 (1869-04-21) till I add add a note to say stop, as some readings are 2 and some 1 on the same page.
Do you want me to delete the second reading already entered?

I have a long way to go yet before we reach Sydney. On a good day we do 150mi. and still have to get up to Hawaii from Peru and then down to AU.
