8AM to Noondressed ship with U.S. Ensigns at mast-heads.
Meridian to 4PMRear Admiral Preble visited the ship and was received with the customary honors. At noon fired a national salute of 21 guns.
SunsetRear Adm. Wyman U.S.N. visited the ship and was received with customary honors.

Other than Mardis Gras, not much of interest. Still sitting in port at New Orleans recruiting lots of boys and shipping them off in groups of 30 or so to various locations for training.
