Hello All,
Seven years ago today, and inspired by the to-ings and fro-ings of the Concord, the idea of a certain game involving a 'GO' square came to mind.

If you would like to jump onboard the next game why not head over to the Shipopoly table in the Dockside cafe?

Just interested, Is anyone celebrating Passover, Ramadan/ Iftar, or Easter today? If so, what are you eating (I am getting bored with my own cooking.)

Left over roast chicken from yesterday. Gravy, asparagus, mashed potatoes. Probably wine, but the staff may bring out a craft beer instead.

Tugboats fail to dislodge huge ship stuck in Chesapeake Bay
The Ever Forward ran aground after leaving Baltimore for Norfolk on March 13. It apparently missed a turn in the deep channel leading down the bay.
...
World attention was focused a year ago on a ship in the same commercial fleet, the Evergreen line, that became stuck in the Suez Canal.

I wonder if it's time to rename that company 'Evergreen behind the ears' to commemorate their incompetence? ;)

Very funny! Evergreen is one of the biggest shippers on the US western coast. Here at Long Beach (Where the Naval Ship Yard some of our OW ships docked) they have built a huge commercial port. Side by side with Los Angeles, they take turns as the biggest ports in the US. These are the ones where ships have been sitting around, 60 - 80 at a time waiting to off load. There are still a couple cruise ships just hanging out. The Harbor masterpilot takes over at the break water. REALLY good job if you can get it. Seems the only way to get the experience is for your dad to be a harbor pilot. For Air quality reasons, they started waiting further out in the ocean. For some ships, the crews were not allowed to disembark even when their (many months) contracts were up. Some places they were even running low on supplies. From the stories heard- it sounded like 18-19th century ships.

WOW! I would think most volunteer science groups do not have this level of computer horsepower behind them!
