There is a list of various financial transactions between the ships met at the far end of the log book. However, they are undated or dated to 1893 or 1894. As a bit of social history they are a bit of fun though.
Quite often you will see the name of another Captain in a log book and usually the other ship will be named, but not always so.
Here is a fascinating volume of the Whaling Masters, Voyages 1731-1925. The 'replacement' masters listing at the far end of the volume is interesting too.
