On the weather page, please enter: date, locations, distances (nautical miles and tenths), courses, and all the weather data in the columns outlined in red in the spreadsheet.
It is not necessary to record State of the Sea.
However, ice mentioned in the weather grid should be transcribed using the magenta Sea column.

On the events page please enter: ice, location information, and sailing information.
Aurorae, volcanic, and seismic activity should be reported in the forum.
The names of US Navy and Coast Guard ships met should be noted. This gives the science team a chance to compare weather readings. You can include all ships mentioned in a single entry without a time or any additional data.
Other events are optional.

One person can do both weather and events (Stream 1), but the system also allows one person to do the weather page (Stream 1) and a second person to do the events page (Stream 3).
Unlike in OW3, where three transcriptions were required for each page, we are doing only one transcription per page.

Every transcriber needs to enter the date.
The date is used to organize the pages.

See Haida — General for some general background and discussion.
See Haida — Examples for a quick introduction to transcribing or a refresher.

See Transcribing Guide to learn how to transcribe the data.
Post in Ask Questions Here or this topic if you have questions.

The first half on the year is completed and uploaded as she heads back toward Seattle in the second half of June

The first few months are spent mostly in port in Cordova, then she spent most of May and June travelling along the coast providing court and medical services to the coastal comminities in the Gulf of Alaska and Bristol Bay.

She makes another brief stop at the Columbia Glacier in June just before heading back to Seattle as well.

Looking ahead, it appears she spends the rest of the year based in Juneau

Ships spotted in the first half of the year:

Alert
Cyane
Morris
Tallapoosa
Samuel D. Ingham (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USCGC_Ingham_(WHEC-35))
Northland

Complete this year, second half of the year was spent mainly operating around Juneau, with a few trip further afield, including taking 100+ infantry men to Valdez and back. If I were to guess I'd say the Spencer took over Haida's duties at Cordova ;) .

U.S.S. Chicago (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Chicago_(CA-29))
U.S.S. Dallas (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Dallas_(DD-199))
U.S.S. Wasmuth (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Wasmuth)
U.S.S. Long (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Long)
Army Tug James Florance
[John C.] Spencer (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USCGC_Spencer_(WPG-36)

The voyage for 1937 has been done. Once again, it was great work by Joke_Slayer who had to contend with one log keeper who loved a tiny script.. You can see the voyage plot here and, for more detail, you can download the KML file and view it with Google Earth.
