The Long Blue Line: How 80 Coast Guardsmen saved an Alaskan town during the Spanish Flu Pandemic of 1919
The above link no longer works, but I found:
How 80 Coast Guardsmen Saved an Alaskan Town During Spanish Flu Pandemic of 1919
I believe that this story was written by a different person, and it seems longer, but the photos credited to NOAA were provided, via Matteo and Kevin, by the granddaughter!

Matteo's detailed account: Unalga Flu Epidemic 1919

What brilliant ship. Three cheers for the Unalga. I noticed a little piece of typing...'Bear should be in today'. :D

Both the Long Blue line and Matteo’s transcriptions are very worthwhile reading.

Has this date (2nd June 1919) appeared in the stream of transcriptions of Bear's logbooks at all please? I couldn't track it just now. Thanks.:)

Bear does seem to have been hurrying, lots of "full speed" in the logs, but they don't arrive until the 3'rd:

Then they pitch in:
