(Click on image above to open full-size image in new tab)
On the weather page, please enter: date, locations, distances, courses, and all the weather data in the columns outlined in red in the spreadsheet.
It is not necessary to record Sea Conditions or Swells from.
However, ice mentioned in the weather grid should be transcribed using the magenta Sea columns.
On the events page please enter: ice, location information, and sailing information.
Aurorae and volcanic activity should be reported in the forum.
Other events are optional.
One person can do both weather and events (Stream 1), but the system also allows one person to do the weather page (Stream 1) and a second person to do the events page (Stream 3).
Unlike in OW3, where three transcriptions were required for each page, we are doing only one transcription per page.
Every transcriber needs to enter the date.
The date is used to organize the pages.
(If one transcriber does events and weather and they are in the same image, the date is only entered once.)
Ice hunting transcriptions were done for January and February and for July 10 to October 8, so only the date and the weather need to be done for those months now.
No transcriptions were done for March to July 9 and October 9 through December, so a full transcription is needed for those months.
No pages are available for May,

Can I reserve March?

You are welcome to reserve March, but since stephenweather stopped transcribing a long time ago, you are also welcome to claim February.
Note that for February we are only interested in the weather. You can skip the events.

The
Transcription Status sheet shows that it's been Reserved, but the
Tracker shows no-one has started it yet. April, though, looks unclaimed.
Randi may have a better idea of who is doing what.

February is available.
Someone signed up for it but quit a long time ago.
Same for the remainder of March.

I've deleted the March
Reserved entry in the Transcription Status Sheet. I left the February
Reserved entry for you, mecordova.
It's all yours. Happy Transcribing.

Still want me to skip the event pages in Feb?

Yes, just the weather and the date.
Also, no need to enter: All Shaft, By Revs, By Log, or Course. Those were recorded, along with all the location information, during the initial ice hunting phase.
