I wonder if this ship now has a digital thermometer as I am getting readings like 33.5 and 38.7 across all 3 columns.

Better reading glasses! We used to read the temperature to the nearest 0.1 deg. C. on a standard glass thermometer.

Just never seen x.xf in any log books so far.
Guess it depends on how it is graduated (degrees / inch)

I've seen decimal readings too - can't remember where, think it was the Storis. Definitely around 1950.

There is a decimal pandemic on the Northwind 1955. ;) :kangaroo:

(I will also say both my VWs outside temp displays tend to show xx.5c most of the time)

One decimal from the thermometer? How about three decimals from the barometer!!! See the PM readings...

Humph...

Since pressure is already two decimals, you are only adding one number.

Poor Stuart is obliged to add a decimal point AND one number

I'm seeing it on Northwind back in 1951, but so far the only decimals I've seen have been several .5 readings. I haven't seen any other decimal values yet, but I've only transcribed a couple weeks so far.

I get every number after the decimal.
Wow is me.
