We are definitely converting and analyzing/utilizing the OldWeather data transcriptions for scientific research purposes! With this being said, I would kindly encourage all of you who are actively involved with the transcription work that is associated with the OldWeather Citizen Science Project to please continue performing all of the really excellent work that you have been doing so far.
Here is the direct link to an article that is entitled "
Getting oldWeather data ship-shape for science", which I had written and posted onto the official Old Weather Blog a few years ago back on Tuesday, December 4, 2018. Please take the time and read this particular article, even if you have already read it sometime in the past. It is a really excellent source of encouragement for individuals who are actively involved with the project, and I also think that it would serve as a really excellent source for encouraging new individuals to become actively involved with the transcription work that is associated with this particular project.

Thank you so much, Michael, for sharing this with us.
My doubts have now been banished, and I shall continue pumping out excellent transcriptions!

I was curious about how much weather and ice data we have collected during the life of the project:
- Ship positions: 935,500
- Ice data: 32,277 items
- Weather data: 3,187,393 items

Gee, looking at the Thetis voyage there were some big errors in that year. I guess mainly E & W errors. (I hope that was not the year that I did. )
