Woken last night at 1:10 by the wooden gate banging (right near my sleeping corner of the house.) Bad news, gusts were over 40 miles per hour (36 knots) when I went out to fix it. Good news, temps had not plummet as it had previous nights, 11 C. Not enough rain to be worth all the commotion.

We went from the beach (6 miles from the water) on a drive up to the foothills to see the snow capped ridges and hopefully lower wild flowers. Lovely views and nice drive very few flowers yet. We ended up at a Native Casino where we had lunch and between us, actually came out a couple $$ ahead. On the way out, we were hit by some sort of ice pellets and then drove through 6 miles of blizzard. Road was good and believe it or not- the drivers were not crazy! We were then low enough to be out from under the clouds all together. Seems we missed some sort of precipitation at home. No one could agree if it was hail or snow.

Thank goodness this is not in my area.
The area the flooding is in is sparsely populated with big rural properties and small towns with mainly aboriginal populations.

It is currently "snowflaking".

If it continues at this rate for a couple of hours, we might actually see an accumulation on the ground :o

We have had very little snow this winter.

There was about 1/4 inch of snow on the ground this morning and we had intermittent "snowflaking" (i.e., in the range of 1 to 10 flakes per cubic foot).
This has been an abnormally snow-free winter.

Another warm day forecast.
17c feels like 19c at 0645 this morning,
37 expected this afternoon.
Possible rain on Monday.

We are going to a camp site in the Barrington Tops a couple of hours north of my place for 5 days, with about 8 cars and caravans from a VW touareg car club. This was planned about 6 months ago.
It will also be a good test for a friends new Jayco RV.

This is the forecast.
Thursday 30/19c, 68% chance of rain, thunderstorms developing later in the day. (We drive up in the afternoon.)
Friday 25/18c, 70% chance of rain, showers and thunderstorms.
Saturday 24/17c, 50% chance of rain, scattered thunder storms
Sunday 24/17c, 60% chance of rain.
Monday return day, 25/16c, 40% chance of rain.
