Hit a new daily record of 37.8 C in Long Beach yesterday. My body wasn't ready for it. Old daily record was 33.9. By managing the doors and windows, I can keep the house temp comfortable for 3 hot days in a row- then it seeps in. Getting measured for new sliding door next week. The mallard duck laying in the front garden won't need to sit on the nest. Need to go shut the door and check the tomato plants.

Signs of spring here:
- Double decker tour buses are running;
- more roof racks on cars have canoes and kayaks than skis and snow boards.

High here yesterday was 25 C. Forecast low for tonight is 3 C and very stormy next few days, with possible thunderstorms, hail, and small chance of snow.
Wind is picking up, lights flickering, and lots of sirens. Trees have their leaves now. So they're having a rougher time with the wind.
Very unusual weather for the Seattle area, but does happen now and then.

11C here with winds NxE gusting to 35 kmh. We've had daffodils for ages now, a lot of them are almost finished. Mind you, there are lots of other flowers in bloom to compensate.

It turns out the sirens were unrelated to the weather. A school bus was involved in a crash a few blocks up the hill from my house. Fortunately no one was hurt.
The wind has calmed down for now, but supposed to be stronger tomorrow.

Image from the ABC website.
Next weeks weather.
I fall in the 15-25mm band. My location is on the coast due west of the 5mm legend line.
I feel sorry for all the Grey Nomads who went North for the winter after an enforced border closures due to covid, there has been loooottts of rain up there in the last month.

The Earth's climate is changing, and the driving forces are changes occurring in the composition of the planet's atmosphere.
At Tasmania's Kennaook/Cape Grim site, the Bureau of Meteorology operates a scientific observatory to measure the composition of some of the world's cleanest air. (It is so clean they actually bottle it.)
The station is on Tasmania's west coast, near the north-west tip — the location chosen because, when conditions are right, the air at Kennaook/Cape Grim has been transported from the vast Southern Ocean, by way of the westerly winds frequently encountered.

I love your map, thank you. It is amazing the sharp contrast in narrow "canyons" where there is rain and then again not.
Sounds like you are in a good place.

The grass keeps growing, so I guess that's enough rain.
