Wow! I hadn't realised it had started so long ago. I think I joined in early on but then drifted away until last year when some extra on-line hobbies/activities were required

I am also amazed that it is nine years old. And what a memorable nine years. I wonder how many words we've been through? I still think of this game as a new idea

For those in the UK, on BBC2 tonight
The Terror looks interesting. Drama based on Sir John Franklin's expedition to find the NW passage.

Thank you so much! Who knew that making ice carousels was a thing? That one should be just about big enough to hold my birthday cake, which will look great rotating around.
(And I was going to say, "those crazy Finns" but then I saw that Minnesotans do this too...)

I will say we watched the whole series and would give it a slightly-cautious two thumbs'-up! Curious to know how other folks here like it...

Happy Birthday, Espross!
Thanks, Michael! This evening my wife and I will trek
900 2.6 miles across the frozen tundra of San Francisco to a dinner under some feeble heatlamps outside
Fort McPoo our favorite restaurant. This morning was beautiful sunshine and then some serious wind came up and "shelter in place" has seemed like the better option...

Old batteries from electric cars get a new life off the grid
One of the last things we did a year ago before we shut down for the pandemic was a trip to Quartzite. We got there late in the season- but it is amazing- so many people show up for a few weeks; then off they go. A decent solar battery would certainly make it more hospitable.
We went to see the rock and gem dealers. (and stayed in a motel.) Got to see the Intaglios in Blythe on the way back.
