Note that the location of 'Warrentown' should be taken with a grain of salt

I am fairly sure that it is the current Warrington, but I am not sure if we are in Pensacola Bay or off the coast. I suspect the latter.
Fortunately, the log mentions a lot of other ships that I note intermittently. Of course, whether or not they are any use is a different matter.

Don't bother with recording the ships. There were at least 58 of them taking part in the blockades. I have a list of 48 from 1863 that have scanned logs!!! When I finish processing a ship, I run a script that checks the positions of the ship with all the other ships we've completed for that year. If I have a question about anything, I look for any ship mentioned on the page with the problem and then I look it up in the logs.

Nov 12 & 13— New Orleans, Louisiana

12th
8am to Merid
Commenced making preparations for sinking the Coffer dock under our stern got up 60 fathoms on each bower chain to put in the dock. Hauled the dock under our stern and put 120 fathoms of the starboard chain into it.

Merid to 4
Sank the dock under stern and commenced pumping out.

13th
6 to 8 pm
Placed John E Broplay + Wm Johnson in double Irons for ~~disobedience~~ Insolence to Captain Marchand and for drunkenness. Edward Walters (Marine) was put in double Irons for bringing liquor on board. Pumped the ship out dry with Main Pumps.
Clearly, we are following the venerable shore leave traditions
Hopefully the pumping out dry refers to the going into coffer dock rather than the liquor in the previous sentence.

The voyage for 1863 was completed, with very many thanks to Randi for her always careful and accurate work. These early logs are a mess, but Randi was up to the challenge.
