It got up to 36 here, but the maximum temperatures at Victoria Harbour and Esquimalt Harbour were 24 and 26 respectively. (All temperatures are rounded to the nearest degree.) Quite a difference for a distance of about 4 km!

I thought I'd seen something a few days ago threatening us with a heat wave this week (although nowhere near as hot as 36!) but it's looking quite pleasant. We had a few days of much needed rain and now it seems to have settled to partially cloudy and max 21/22C.

I know which end of that 4Km I'd rather be in Michael. It's not the hot end :D

jil - glad to hear that you've got some rain. We've been very much the same down south. Getting gusty today. :)

It's almost 8 AM and it's already 28C. We got down only to 19.6 this morning. This is the highest minimum temperature recorded in June, and it ties the highest minimum temperature ever recorded for Victoria, which was set at Victoria International Airport on July 10, 2007. Environment Canada says 37 for our max today, and 38 tomorrow. We'll see. 37.6 is the all time maximum. ;)

The high here yesterday was 39.4, same as was forecast. The forecast for today is 41. It's already 34 as of 9 AM.

The high of 38.9 at Seattle/Tacoma Airport was the highest June temperature recorded and the second highest all time.

I thought that it's too hot in Moscow with 33-35 oC, but 41...Oh my

Two of the digital thermometers inside my house couldn't take the heat yesterday. One displayed "oL" and the other "oFL". They are displaying temperature in Fahrenheit, so I'm guessing they couldn't handle the three digits when the temperature went over 100. My other indoor thermometer displayed 102. Today is supposed to be about 5 degrees (Fahrenheit) warmer and tomorrow even warmer.

My Internet router quit working this morning. I think it overheated. I have a fan blowing directly on it now and so far it's working again.

31C here in Pittsburgh at 1540.
It is supposed to cool off Thursday.
No air conditioning, but I have a small fan blowing in my general direction.

New all-time Canadian maximum temperature record set. It may also be the highest temperature recorded north of 50N, but they are still checking. My weather station has a max of 36.9, 0.8 degrees shy of breaking the 37.6 record for Victoria. Maybe tomorrow...

High today at my house was 40.9. Forecast for tomorrow is 45, then cooling off to 33 on Tuesday.

I'm surviving in the basement so far, but it's starting to warm up down here too.

Seattle tied it's all time high of 103 F or 39.4 C. That record will likely be broken tomorrow.

Our maximum temperature as of 1700 is 39.1C. Given the choice between +39 and -39, I choose the latter. Anyway, the old record of 37.6 for the highest temperature in Victoria has been surpassed. Also the Canadian maximum temperate, which was set yesterday in Lytton, B. C., was surpassed there today with 45.7.

For places getting the sea breeze: Esquimalt Harbor got up to 22C, Race Rocks 30, Sheringham Point 29 and Estevan Point 24.

It looks like relief is on the way. At 6:15 PM it's 42.8, which appears will be the maximum, a little less than the forecast. :D Inside upstairs it's currently 39.4.

I just looked at the record this afternoon for Elma, Washington, which is to the west of here and a little inland from the ocean. At 3:44 PM it was 43.2. At 4:44 PM it was 29.2. So the cool air is starting to head this way, but it will likely be late tonight before it arrives here.

The forecast for tomorrow is 33, which is still too hot, but will be a big relief after the past three days. :D
