Love the short piece on the Copper Inuit - fascinating. I haven't managed to drag out Bodfish's own book to see if McKenna Bay appears there. It probably has changed its name.

Here's what I noted for Michael who's been through lists as well, but with no luck:
There are a lot of places around that area that are named after whalers or whaler captains. There was a Capt. McKenna. I'm pretty sure that McKenna harbor is the name in the log, although Capt Bodfish notes Langton Bay (LB) as Langden Harbor the next day so he's not perfect.
Using the '40 miles south of C Perry (C. Parry)' (CP) brings you to Tom Cod Bay (TC) which certainly has long sand spits (although those features are not uncommon up here as you'll know). They have been dandling around this area for a couple of days working Franklin Bay (FB) between the islands leading up to C Perry and the Smoking Hills (SH). I'll keep looking for more clues, but sometimes it's too far back (though we are in 1897/8). Thanks again!

I've been attempting watercolour painting for a few years now, going to a workshop about once a month and not really practising in between so not improving very much! Since the virus means we can't meet up, we've been doing a weekly challenge on-line, which means I've got to the stage where I'm not embarrassed by my efforts (most of the time!). This week's topic was transport so I did the Mersey Ferry that was given a makeover as part of 14-18 NOW WW1 art commissions, based on WW1 dazzle camouflage. So with the link to OW I thought I'd post it.
