Anybody got grandkids interested in the science of our oceans?

Has anyone heard if any of our NOAA contacts are still employed or if they've been purged?

I'm in periodic contact with the science team. They were there last week, and I heard no hint of any issues at that time.

A big purge just happened in the last couple of days so I wasn't sure if anyone had heard anything.

I read about it, too, in this morning's news and presumed if they were trimming the hurricane modeling staff that our friends just might be in trouble. Anyone in contact with them, please convey my support.

I know that other institutions besides NOAA use this data, but will this project be able to continue without its support?

We get the log images from the National Archives, so they are free.
A former moderator has covered the cost of the forum. One of the project scientists offered to pay with his own money next year. It's not too expensive, so one of the moderators could also take it over.

Even if this team's work is ended, I'm certain that Philip in the UK would take our work and get it into the other international databases. He originally started OW, and then turned things over to Kevin Wood in Seattle. When he passed, Gil Compo took it over.

I did, but the new version didn't seem any slower. They changed the way background colours are called, so if you use the Alt+G, ChangeBgColor macro, you need to get the updated spreadsheet. Maybe try rebooting your PC.
