It is so sad about the fire. I can only imagine how terrifying and hopeless this is. I am very sorry for Canadian friends.

This may explain the funny Ozzie weather.

Christine is getting tired of the rain. She moved into her house on May 2nd and she still hasn't been able to walk in her back yard. It's too sodden and, when you walk on it, your shoes sink about four inches into the mud. (I know, I ventured into her yard and harvested the tangerines that weren't eaten by the Kookaburras.)

Drainage ditches work well. Across the back of the house and drain it into the storm water downpipes.

Thanks, Maikel. I still run into an occasional person who doesn't acknowledge human caused global warming, but I find they are folks who are not likely to be swayed. A good argument is still good to have in a back pocket.

For those OWs still interested in WW1 this wreck was found and identified recently
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c9qg4z1149eo

HMS Hawke was lost to a torpedo with some 500 crew members drowned and only 70 survivors.
