16th October 1897 Log book of the Beluga at Langton Bay, Canadian North West Territories.
Capt Bodfish notes the passing of Mr Simmons 1st Mate of the Baeleana (Balaena) at 8 PM on the 16th October, and his burial on the 18th October.

The report from the logbook written by the Captain (Bodfish) reports:
20 minutes past 10 Our first officer Mr R. N. Flanders died while sitting in his chair undressing himself apparently well but at few moments before every possible effort was made too restore him but failed

The loss of Frank Grayham of the William Baylies
October 27th 1893
His attempted rescue nearly became an even greater tragedy...

5.30 PM a Man Forward by the Name of Frank Grayham
fell over board and was lost ship going at the rate
of 8 Knots at the time every thing was done to save
the Man but no use in lowering the Starboard Boat
she was Capsized and had to lower another Boat
to Save Her Crew lost the Capsized Boat at 6.30 PM
the other Boat came on Board

At 11.40am, Theodore Thompson, an invalid seaman, late of the US ship “Constitution”, age 43, a native of Pennsylvania, (free passenger on this ship) departed this life

At 6.20pm, called all hands to bury the Dead. Read the Episcopal Service over the immortal remains of Theodore Thompson (seaman from the Frigate “Constitution”) and committed them to the deep

Noon position: Lat 23.17, Long -44.42

At 11.25am, John Dument (ordinary seaman) departed this life
At 5pm, called all hands to bury the dead. Read the Episcopal Service over the mortal remains of John Dument and committed them to the deep

At this time she had received a Baltimore pilot on board and decommissioned on May 11th. So near and yet so far.

Aboard USS Jamestown in Buenos Ayres [sic] 20 Sep 1851, at 11.30am Dennis McCarty (ordinary seaman) departed this life
On 21 Sep 1851 at 12.30pm, called all hands. Half-masted the Ensign, performed the Funeral Service & sent the remains of the late Dennis McCarty on shore for burial

On May 24th 1895 the Blacksmith suffers a bad haemorrhage

Sadly on May the 27th he died and was buried the next day. His name is not listed
