Actually, page 10 is the only page in that group that needs to be transcribed.
It is a bit tricky because it is on its side, but you can use the Adjust Angle button to fix that.

There are several pages with event data on them, such as the Ship's log cover page and the Date of Reporting for Duty page. I'm not sure what the format for those should be.

I entered the info as so:

We don't bother with those kinds of pages, but it is OK if you wish to add that.

Mentions of people are totally optional. Most of us enter nothing, or we might note an event in the case of someone dying or if there is something funny or unusual happening. I had one person in irons who got away from the guard, jumped ship and tried to swim to shore. They launched a boat and caught him just before he made it. They put him in double irons in the brig. Someone let him out, he jumped ship and tried to swim to shore, only to be caught one more time. I think he also tried to escape some time later.

Mind you, one transcriber wanted to enter every remark about every person, which was OK, too. Just a lot of work.

Sometime there is information about the instruments, and it would be handy to just make a summary of errors. I.e. Barometer reads 0.09 inches high, thermometer and psychrometer reads 0.1 degree high. You will find that instrument page is present at the start of each month. Just entering the data once will suffice. It will be enough for the science team to investigate further, if they so desire.

You can ignore the Beginning of the log section in the Meteorological instruments part. That needs to be updated

I did not see any mention of the use of the CTRL U and CTRL D keys which I find very useful. You see the info required to be types on the cell below your entry cell. I do not have to remember it when the cell goes white for entry.

I try to keep the typed logs for new transcribers, and there is enough to learn at the beginning without introducing shortcuts

The only feedback I have is that you have done a bit more than necessary.

As long as you have Nautical Miles and Tenths, as on this page, there is no need to transcribe the Patent Log values for Nautical Miles and Tenths.

Also there is no need to transcribe Sea Conditions or Swells From.
The science team has explained to us that they are generated be conditions elsewhere.

I've had Events pages that had entries, but nothing relevant (mainly administrative entries). I've been ignoring those pages, but should I still just add the date and upload them anyway?

If there is nothing relevant, there is no need to upload a page (but no harm done if you do).

Log entry for the USS Sacramento made on 09/28/1923 mentions that a working party left the ship for employment in connection with a Yokohoma Disaster. It does not mention the nature of this disaster. I looked it up and there had been a 7.9 magnitude earthquake that struck Tokyo-Yokohama on 9/01/1923. The shock generated a 39.5 foot tsunami. The death toll reportedly exceeded 140,000.

I've completed and uploaded the USS Sacramento logs for September of 1923. At this point should I continue on with the Sacramento (October 1923) or move onto something else?

I find the handwritten logs more interesting, but the writing can be a challenge.

I would like to claim October - December 1923 please.
