Any ideas why they were casting at 08-1200? What would make them pick that time?
Whilst it shows what looks like Feet and Inches I guess it is Fathoms and inches.
2' 42 I think is 9' 6 in f&I, so it was getting a bit shallow, how did they know?

Time in casting loose 1'st Div 3min 22sec, 2'nd Div 2' 42", 3'rd Div 3' 06" ...
I assume that they were casting one of the ship's boats loose

Good job, Stuart. I'm just finishing processing McCulloch, 1916, then I have to start processing Sacramento, 1924. Kearsarge, 1890, will be next.

here and, for more detail, you can download
the KML file and view it with Google Earth. Two people were mentioned
here.
