Hmm. I am wondering if any of those long ropey looking things are power lines?? They look a little heavy. Looks like a good day to stay in and look out! Be safe.

Daffodils are wonderful - lovely :)

A neighbour decided to strip out a piece of grass with herbs and flowers in it and get it turfed over. The daffodils, hiding well down, popped straight back up through the new turf. Nature is a wonderful thing. ;)

We were cooler than normal, and had a little less rain than normal. But, this is the big news...

There were 10 days with precipitation, the normal is 18.
*** This March had the fewest days of precipitation, beating the old record of 13.

There is a tiny bit of snow still on shrubs and fence rails, but the rest of the little that fell has melted.
Weather site claims it is 1C/35F at the moment.
(No, this is not an April Fools joke — unless it is being played on us by Mother Nature!)

Another gallant attempt. About 1-5 flakes per cubic foot.

Snowing a bit harder! 10 flakes per cubic foot!
Now there is a little bit accumulating on the grass :D

First Abraham Lincoln of the season. Beautiful, sturdy deep red tea rose.

Snowing again :o
Weather site says -1C/29F

We have/had lots of daffodils, some hyacinths, a few crocuses still hanging on, and trees were starting to bloom.
Tomorrow :?:

Lovely sunshine but white frosting on the lawn!! It's supposed to reach about 12 this afternoon but next week looks distinctly chilly but fairly dry. So bring back the thermals and enjoy the fact that Nicola says we can now travel within our local authority area. (I suspect that our Council still haven't opened the public loos and indoor hospitality is still closed so travelling is a bit limited, especially if you are female.)

I went for a walk, but I cut it short.
It was sunny but cold and windy.
There were a couple of well shaded pockets that still had a tiny bit of snow from yesterday.

I listened to the morning news- half asleep (because I was awaken by an earthquake earlier this morning). I can not find the source, but there was a good story about the weather service updating averages to meet the "New Normal." Normal is a 30 year average adjusted every decade. Adding in these past 10 years of record setting temps may mean we are more "average" just not any cooler. The USA temps are considerably higher around the coasts and the Southern states. Poor Fargo South Dakota, is just as cold as it has always been. New Normal.

Can't help thinking that calling things a new 'normal' makes it all sound ignorable  :(

Snowing/hailing here at the moment. This time last week it was warm enough to sit in the garden in a T-shirt!
