Re: Burton Island (1947) -- Discussion: Questions, Comments and Coordination
I just finished April and would like to claim July, 1947.
Re: Burton Island (1947) -- Discussion: Questions, Comments and Coordination
July is yours!
As you probably noticed, only the date and the weather need to be transcribed for that month.
Re: Burton Island (1947) -- Discussion: Questions, Comments and Coordination
Thanks! And that's good to know, it'll certainly make my work a bit easier.
Re: Burton Island (1947) -- Discussion: Questions, Comments and Coordination
Can I claim August to transcribe?
Re: Burton Island (1947) -- Discussion: Questions, Comments and Coordination
It's yours.
Welcome!

Can I claim September next?
Re: Burton Island (1947) -- Discussion: Questions, Comments and Coordination
Indeed you can!
I'm very happy that you are continuing!
Note that here we do want a full transcription.
However, it looks like they are in port most of the time, so it will be pretty much what you have been doing.
BTW Today I was doing a crossword puzzle and the clue was something about a Los Angeles port area. The solution was San Pedro!

On 1947-9-11 (and a couple other dates), there is an extra weather observation logged in the blank line between 1200 and 1300. Should I be noting that somehow?
Re: Burton Island (1947) -- Discussion: Questions, Comments and Coordination
It looks to me like it's the typist. You can see that the wind direction at 1200 looks funny (255 when it was probably 355 - but leave it as it is). I would just leave that line out. You could add a Transcriber Comment/Weather Record for 1200 to note that there was an extra line. Leaving that line out won't make any significant difference to anything.

However, sometimes there is an extra line or a missing line due to changing time zones or daylight savings time.

September is done, going to move on to October!
Re: Burton Island (1947) -- Discussion: Questions, Comments and Coordination
Done with Oct. Can I reserve Nov + Dec?
Re: Burton Island (1947) -- Discussion: Questions, Comments and Coordination
Good work on October. Yes, you can reserve Nov-Dec.
