OW'ers discussing how tedious it can be to navigate the inside passage from Alaska to Seattle: "Over 30 course changes per day and badly misspelled place names - this is not for the faint of heart!"

Sign of OW addiction? It's difficult to look at the other bits of the painting when there's a big map on the wall.

Great picture!

Officer and Laughing Girl, 1658 by Johannes Vermeer
https://www.johannesvermeer.org/officer ... g-girl.jsp
Vermeer painted the map representing the provinces of Holland and West Friesland so accurately that it has been identified as one published in the Netherlands around 1620. Nevertheless, he has imaginatively colored the map, painting the land blue, to relate to the color harmonies of the painting.

Great picture Chris - interesting articles Randi ;)

I surmise that it is Autumn since he appears to have collected some dead leaves in the expansive brim of his hat

OW'er gets scolded by moderator for sleeping in late: "You think those logbooks are gonna transcribe themselves? Get up and get back to work!"

You can recognize moderators by their wings
That moderator looks like they spent many hours getting a new ship on line for transcribing ;)

Quick question - has the angelic moderator got a huge cup of strong coffee for this poor OW-er? :?

The wings must play havoc with all the fancy clothes the mods have (or perhaps that should be vice versa?)

I want to know what the manacles on the wall are for...

My mistake, must be a coffee cup holder to dangle before the transcriber.

OW'er prepares for battle with really nasty logs.

(Inspired by Gordon's recent completion of April 1915 on the Manning, which was pretty awful!)
