Official Temp 30.9c.
My thermometer on the table in the sun was showing between 50 and 51C.
That is the temp people go out in when not hiding in an instrument shelter.

Re: Transcriber Weather
The prevailing issue here is Southern California is smoke. Over 100,000 evacuated last night. Might be sunny if not for that. Very cool nights and hazy daytime. Time changes here on Saturday night from Pacific Daylight (savings) time to Pacific Standard Time - Clocks "Fall Back" one hour. I hate when the ship goes back and forth across the time zone line; it takes very little to confuse my transcriptions.

You and me both!!! It would be easier if they stayed on GMT. I looked at he Air Quality for Long Beach. Makes me wonder why I bought L.A. I hope the air in your house isn't too smoky.
Re: Transcriber Weather
Washington state has approved a law to keep the state on daylight saving time year round. However, it has to be approved by the U.S. Congress and they don't seem to be interested in even looking at it. I believe a few other states have passed similar laws, but they also need approval from Congress.
Re: Transcriber Weather
Last year British Columbia passed a law to keep us on PDT, but they may be waiting for Washington, Oregon and California to switch, too. I'm not sure where what will happen on the weekend. They had an informal online referendum and about 100,000 people voted to stay on PDT and a few thousand voted to change back and forth.
Re: Transcriber Weather
Very windy today!
Re: Transcriber Weather
Windy here, 13 C. Back to Pacific Standard Time. The Premier didn't have the guts to be on a different time zone than our neighbours to the south. The Yukon stayed on daylight time.
Re: Transcriber Weather
We went back to standard time too.
Re: Transcriber Weather
Well, the clocks in California are on standard time, but everyone (including and especially the dogs) still want to eat on daylight time! Current temp 24C very slight wind. We've not had official rain since last spring- it better hold off 1 more week while I get my new roof.
Stay Well All,

Re: Transcriber Weather
Stay dry, at least until your roof is on.
Re: Transcriber Weather
Just got to the end of 5 days of weather warnings for heavy rain and a couple of flood alerts. It is still raining at the moment, just not very heavily . Wish we could send some over to the places with drought and/or fires (but not until the roof is fixed!)

Re: Transcriber Weather
Long Beach CA has had 14.6 inches year to date. Actually more than normal of 11 1/2. We had over 6 inches in January- something we don't get that in a year. Rainy season to start soon.

Re: Transcriber Weather
First winter storm of the season- all of you Northerly folks will laugh at me; 57/43 F today with wind gusting to 32 knots. Winterizing sensitive plants. I have a new respect for my crew on the Burton Island with straight wind that high. Got the weatherproofing part of the my roof on before the rain. Shingles should be on by Tuesday or Wednesday. YEA!
Re: Transcriber Weather
We had 43.7 mm in the past ten days, (1.72 inches). 22.4 mm fell on just one day. Normally, in this period, we'd get about 12 mm or 1/2 inch. Our maximum temperature in the period was 15.8 (60 F) and the minimum was -1.7 (29 F).
I hope your roof gets well and truly fixed soon. Few things are better than being warm and dry...

Re: Transcriber Weather
WINDY here. We had two very brief (a couple of minutes) power outages.
Fortunately not too cold.

Lovely weather in my part of the world. Yesterday 0900 to 0900, Max 37.3C, Min 19.4. Humidity 23% to 91%
Had a shower last night, [I mean a shower of rain 7mm in 20 min]. Saved me watering my newly planted Snow Maiden hedge shrubs.
