In several civilisations of ancient Italy, particularly
Etruscan
and Roman religion, priests were involved in augury, or interpreting the words of birds while the "auspex" (from which the word "auspicious" is derived) watched their activities to foretell events.

From the largest bird to the smallest mammal... Here's an interesting
animal,
the Etruscan shrew (Suncus etruscus). It is the smallest known extant mammal by mass, weighing only about 1.8 g (0.063 oz) on average. (The bumblebee bat is regarded as the smallest mammal by skull size and body length.) There is also a myth that they have 800 stomachs, and as a mammalian insectivore it may have venomous spit.

I wonder if you could get the Bummble bee bats to go away by throwing
Lychees
at them.

Kitti's hog-nosed bat (aka bumblebee bat) would
eschew
lychees because they eat insects.
