Re: Sacramento (1923): request for October - December 1923

I see file details for the requested months November & December 1923 now appear on the tracker sheet for this ship. However, October's tab is blank. :?: :?:

I have no idea what happened, but I will fix it right now.

Thanks for the October file details Randi. I am having a problem correctly bulk downloading the related images. When I entered the Image Numbers for December 1923 (70 - 146) in the Bulk Download dialog box, the system downloaded images from January 1923. I haven't tried October or November suspecting I'll get similar results.

The Villalobos 1916 files ran consequetivey through that year. Sacramento 1923 doesn't seem to follow that convention.

Help please.

Michael is the expert, but I'll give it a try.

It works for me.

However, you need to set the index (cell A1) to 5 for 1923 Sep-Oct and to 6 for 1923 Nov-Dec.
See the URL List tab.

For more details see Using the Spreadsheet

Looking at the table in the first post of this topic, the system here seems to be two months per 'logbook'.

Data upload

The transcription of Sacramento 1923 Oct - Dec has been uploaded. This completes the transcription of USS Sacramento (Gun boat).

The voyage for 1923 has been completed. There were almost as many transcribers for this ship as there were crew:
  • ahecker
  • espross
  • ellenbaum
  • EShane
  • BillNoise
  • AJP
The transcribing crew did a much better job than the typists, who typed up the original logs. Just to make it confusing, there were a few missing days and a missing month! Not only that, but the typed pages were often out of order.

You can see a plot of the voyage here and, for more detail, you can download the KML file and view it with Google Earth. There were a few people mentioned here.

These are the weather statistics for this voyage:
