Those are very new versions, so you get what you get. I stay with the versions marked as:
This version is slightly older and does not have the latest features, but it has been tested for longer.
They have accepted my request for an option in Tools/Options/LibreOffice/Application Colors so you can change that colour to one that works for you. I'm not sure when that will appear, but maybe soon. It might be an option with a heading like Cell Focus color. It may already be an option in your version, but I do not want to try it out.

I also plan to ask again for an option to change the background colour of the cell when you're entering data. I had asked for it to be transparent. One developer said it was doable, but another said it was impossible. The colour is the same as the Document Background colour, but changing that causes other sheets to become unreadable. They need a second variable.

In fact, I rarely update my version of Calc. The current recommended version is 7.6.5, but this is where I'm at:
Version: 7.5.9.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: cdeefe45c17511d326101eed8008ac4092f278a9
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 22000; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: en-CA (en_CA); UI: en-US
Calc: CL threaded
I figure that if it works, why change it? If or when they make options for the cell focus colour, now blue, and the cell editing background color, now white, available, I will get that version, once it's older and more stable.

You know me, in it boots and all.
I have to find out what works and does not work so when the developer ver of the SS becomes the default for newbies we know what to expect.
I thought here was a change we made in Tools/Options to change to focus cell border, I just cannot find it again. :( :?

No, we never had a way to change the focus cell border color. They were working on it.

Google Drive copies of your OW uploads.

Post by pommystuart »

When I upload a file (the .xml file generated for every one of you days log book entries) to Google Doc's it creates an entry in my "Drive" in Google.

To check if it is doing it for you, open Google then in a new tab, click the 9 dot square and select Drive.

If you want to tidy up the drive then these files are in YOUR system and also in the drive that Michael accesses to work on and can be safely deleted.

Version 3_5g of the spreadsheets has been updated.

Updated Features

Some minor updates have been made.
  1. It was felt some clarification about which Lat/Longs needed to be transcribed. If Obs data are available, only they need to be transcribed, otherwise transcribe the DR values. Lat/Longs noted as By Bearings count as Obs. The LatLong Wizard now has instructions in place of the box for Selecting the type of LatLong data; and,
  2. It was noted that courses or winds with a fraction were no longer being validated. This has now been fixed.

The Version 3_5g spreadsheets have been uploaded to their usual places. Feel free to download them at a time that is convenient for you, but there is no need to do so immediately unless you have upgraded LibreCalc to Version 7.4 or greater.

If you are happy with the way your spreadsheets are working, there's no need to download this version.

Version 4 might be the one that will allow our spreadsheets to connect directly to Google Drive to submit them when complete.

LibreOffice was able to make a direct connection at one point, but a couple years ago Google made a change to how it handles security when apps connect to it. That broke LibreOffice's capability to connect. We are waiting for the bug to be fixed. However, the LibreOffice developers are mostly volunteers, so no telling when it will ever be fixed. There is also no guarantee that we can get it to work for us, but it looks promising.

With the completion of Yantic's voyage for 1865, we crossed the 8,000,000 mark for the total number of Weather records! These are the totals since we started the U.S. Federal Ships phase of Old Weather.

Can one of you try it now? There were two files where there should be only one. I renamed one of them, let's see if that works.

I've been checking a few of the other ships, and they all have the same greyed out "Add Files" box. It may have something to do with Google, not us. There's nothing I can suggest, except maybe wait until tomorrow. There may be someone else, like Gordon, who can sort it out. I had a brief look on the web, but I saw nothing that seemed relevant.

I see the same thing. It looks like Bill tried to make a new one uploader, which I renamed as X, but they both appear. I checked the uploaders for three other ships, and they all had the greyed out Add Files box. They also had just one uploader, but having two seems to make no difference.

This is what was last uploaded...

Kearsarge looks OK, but Lackawanna is definitely strange.
I didn't try to upload anything or change anything, and I am not going to!
