Not exactly Scrabble...

SCRABBLE. A badly written log. This term is used by the translators of the Bible at David's feigned madness, when he "scrabbled on the doors of the gate." The Sailor's Word-Book

Because I am on the road some days I am going to post (where possible) two sets of words.

G1 - G13 Well dressing

https://visitpeakdistrict.com/events/ca ... -dressings

B20 back to B1 TroopingoftheColours (Yes, Colours is correctly spelt)

The Trooping the Colour takes place on the second Saturday in June at Horse Guards Parade, Whitehall in London.
The official birthday of Queen Elizabeth II is marked each year by a military parade and march-past, known as Trooping the Colour (Carrying of the Flag). The official name was “the Queen’s Birthday Parade” and is now "the King’s Birthday Parade".

James Clark Ross (1800-1862), commander in the British Navy and an experienced Arctic explorer, discovered the (I02-I20 Magnetic North Pole on 1 June 1831.
When the magnetic north pole was revisited in 1904, explorers found it had moved by 50km (31 miles) from where it had been when first discovered in 1831.
In 1989 it sped up again, and in 2007 scientists confirmed that the pole is now galloping toward Siberia at 34 to 37 miles (55 to 60 kilometres) a year.
Earth's north magnetic pole is racing toward Russia at almost 40 miles (64 kilometres) a year due to magnetic changes in the planet's core, new research says.
(No wonder I get lost when using my compass.   )
Also

1st June also marks the beginning of the (I01-I16) hurricane season in many parts of the world.

F 20 down JUVENIS

https://www.almanac.com/content/month-j ... s-folklore:
Juno is the ancient Roman goddess of marriage and childbirth. And the month of June is still a popular month for weddings today! As a natural extension of marriage, Juno was also the goddess of childbirth. Another interpretation of the origins of “June” says that the name came from the Latin juvenis, “young people,” who were celebrated at this time.

L 01 down HENRY as in HENRY the VIII. Born June 28 1491. Liked to collect wives. Also born were Kings James I or VI (depending on who is counting) George III and apparently Charles III. I just saw pictures of a birthday party.

Charley 111 ACTUAL birthday.
Born: 14 November 1948 (age 75 years), Buckingham Palace, London, United Kingdom

Why is the King's official birthday in June?
Like his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, before him, Charles has an official birthday on the second Saturday in June. The date was chosen because the weather is generally good, although this year early sunshine on Saturday gave way to a blustery, rainy day in London.
(It also helps to keep the holidays at the same time no matter who is the boss at that time)

J18 down JAMES.
Stuart, I wondered about Charles III birthday. I knew Queen Elizabeth celebrated late. I considered the better weather and all, but never thought about inconveniencing those with holiday calendars. HAHA. We just picked a date between Washington and Lincoln and call that "Presidents' Day." One state or more keep Lincoln's out of loyalty.
