Any ideas why they were casting at 08-1200? What would make them pick that time?
Whilst it shows what looks like Feet and Inches I guess it is Fathoms and inches.
2' 42 I think is 9' 6 in f&I, so it was getting a bit shallow, how did they know?

I assume that they were casting one of the ship's boats loose :?:

Good job, Stuart. I'm just finishing processing McCulloch, 1916, then I have to start processing Sacramento, 1924. Kearsarge, 1890, will be next. :D

The voyage for 1890 has been done, thanks to the Stuart's sterling work. You can see a plot of the voyage here and, for more detail, you can download the KML file and view it with Google Earth. Two people were mentioned here.
