One each to caro and jil. :D
The mighty Murrumbidgee river runs past the villages showground where we and friends are parked.
Went for a drive along the river to Gobarralong, blinked and drove right through it.
Can any body tell me what the horse and Sargents memorial is about?

We is, and you did. Nice one Caro. :D

Next stop. (9/02/23)
The name of this town is derived from the Wiradjuri word nharrang, meaning "frill-necked lizard". and the name of the local Narrungderah clan.

The novel Jessica, by Bryce Courtenay, mentions this town several times as the main town near the place where the book is set.

It had its sesquicentenary in 2013.

The showground was full of bindis. We cut short the stop by a day.

Mean max temp Mean min temp Annual rainfall
23.3 °C 74 °F 9.9 °C 50 °F 471.5 mm 18.6 in

Wanted, anything else you find about the place. :) ;)

Narrandera

The Narrandera Memorial Gardens include the unusual Hankinson Fountain. Manufactured by the Royal Doulton Company of England, the ceramic fountain is one of only two known to be in existence, the other located in Pakistan. It was given to the people of Narrandera by Alderman and Mrs Hankinson in 1922 in honour of locals who served in World War I.

Our overnight stop should have been a small town in the Murray region of southern New South Wales, Australia, in the Murray River Council local government area. The town is known for being the gateway to one of the largest Red Gum forests in the world, which spans over 70,000 hectares and includes wetlands of international significance. The forest has arguably the best access in the region to the Murray River, with good dry weather roads and no high banks.
Name Town.

I could not find the freecamp so we when onwards to the next stop instead for two nights (10-11/02/23).

On the way there we passed through a village the name is also a British English slang term for Great Britain, or often specifically England.
Name village.

Our stop over is in a town whos name is an Aboriginal word meaning "Meeting of the Waters".
Name the town and its neighboring town.

Which Nancy Cato novel was made into a mini series showing this area?

The port is home to the largest paddle steamer collection in the world, which includes the world's oldest operating wooden hulled paddle steamer.
Name of the paddle steamer please.

We were lucky to find a van site as a leg of the biggest water ski race in the world is being held this weekend.
Race name please.

Sorry Michael.
PS Adelaide is the oldest working wooden-hulled paddle steamer in the world residing in her birthplace of xxxx. Built in 1866 by George Linklater, she was described as very strong and compactly built.

12th Feb

This small town is located in fairly close proximity to several major national parks, including Wyperfeld National Park and Hattah-Kulkyne National Park. The town is known for its once-yearly rally car race called the Mallee Rally, held on the Queens Birthday holiday in June and for its silo art.

I did get some nice sunrise pictures 15 min up the road from the caravan park.
Where did I go?

With the extra clue of the paddle steamer the town that means 'meeting of the waters' is Echuca and Moama is the neighbour
