I often get that on my walk to and from the gym. In the old days, you worried about people who walked around talking to themselves. Now, you see it all the time.

The thing I always think of when I see "don't text and drive" signs is that if you're texting while driving then you're not looking up to read the sign!

Also my favorite "talking to themselves" person is my neighbor who takes business calls while walking his baby. The baby is apparently familiar with the dad's phone cadence and does all the little talking hand gestures while riding in the stroller.

I was away visiting the youngest generation. Her 2nd birthday. Sorry I missed yours April. A good book is a gift and the new library system make it easy to read.

As far as texting and driving, I worked with a fellow who did not speak - we could all sign enough to make it work. Following him out of the parking lot one evening, he was stopped at the corner, waiting for it to clear, signing away to himself!

While editing "Pioneer" she encountered the USCGS Bear. Now I knew about Bear's part in the rescue of the remnants of the Greely expedition in 1884 but her later career was unknown to me. However, a search turned up this link which gives a summary of her full career which lasted as an active ship until 1944. She finally sank, under tow in 1963, on her way to Philadelphia to become a museum & restaurant.

NOAA and USCG are reasonably certain they have identified the wreck site of the Bear

Thanks for that. May she rest in peace since they are unlikely to find any significant items in the wreck. She was under tow and scheduled for redevelopment so significant items would have been removed and sent down over land if they planned to put them back on board. It's nice to know where she is though.

Is there no end to these "special days" ?
Today I cannot seem to find an end to the August Ferdinand Möbius, (born November 17, 1790,) story.
