I lucked out after 6 does but did have 5 right.

Anybody heard of the "Oneida" monument, I hadn't till now.

The Yantic picked up some stones for it in Hong Kong on the 16th & 17 May 1873.
It seems it was a monument was made up of two stones carried either side of the Pivot gun.

We are now 14th July and are unloading monument onto the Idaho to be transported ashore in Yokohama, Japan.

I didn't remember the ship's name, but when I followed your link to the wiki article I remembered having read it before. The Japanese seem to have shown far more respect for the dead sailors than the US government did.

USS Yorktown also mentions the unveiling of a monument in Japan, the Commodore Perry Monument, at the site where Commodore Matthew C. Perry first landed in Japan.

At 8.55am U.S.S. "New York" fired a salute of 15 guns, with Japanese ensign at fore, the salute was returned by the "Hatsuse" ["Hatutse" in log-book] gun for gun, with American ensign at fore.
At 9.15am in obedience to signals from the United States flagship U.S.S. "New York" anchored, and full-dressed ship, with Japanese ensign at main.

At 10.18am the Japanese battleship "Shikishima" came in and anchored, and full-dressed ship.
At 11.05am the Captain and five officers left the ship to attend the unveiling of the Commodore Perry monument at Kurihama.

At 12.10pm the United States flagship U.S.S. "New York" fired a salute of 21 guns, Japanese ensign at main, and the "Hatsuse" ["Hatutse" in log-book] fired 21 guns, with United States ensign at main.
Marine guards of all ships were paraded and faced towards the Perry Monument on shore during the unveiling.
