Re: Internet/Internet site problems
Anybody getting this problem when trying to download log pages?
Bulk download would not let me get past page 216 (Manning 1900)
Checked URL page and it should load up to 306
Tried a copy paste to URL line and got this.
This page isn’t working
catalog.archives.gov is currently unable to handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 503
Server down?

Re: Internet/Internet site problems
I just had some problems too...
Still down I can't get the ship site (e.g., https://catalog.archives.gov/id/38547950) or the individual log pages.

Re: Internet/Internet site problems
Google Earth Pro isn't working. When I started it up, I got just the tool bar at the top and the viewer is still just black. It's been using about 10% of my CPU for several minutes with nothing visible happening. If I click on File/Open nothing happens. I did a re-start, but no change. I did an uninstall, and re-installed, but no change.
Unfortunately I can't work on any voyages without it...
I'll try again in an hour or two...
I disabled my Avast Anti-virus and started Google Earth again. It's OK.
I re-enabled my anti-virus, and I'll see how that goes. So the problem was with my anti-virus software, not with Google Earth.

Re: Internet/Internet site problems
Any body having problems with Libra calc.
I have ver 6.4.6.2.
I was stable for a few month then my menus kept going blank and the cell marker freezes.
Currently downloading an earlier version.

Re: Internet/Internet site problems
I am using Version: 6.2.8.2 (x64) without problems.

I'm on LibreCalc 6.4.6.2 (x64) and having no issues.
Re: Internet/Internet site problems
I'm having a problem uploading xml files to the Google drive. It's giving me an error if I try to upload more than one file at a time saying that a maximum of one file can be loaded at a time. It was working fine late last night.
Re: Internet/Internet site problems
I don't know what the problem could be. I've changed nothing. I don't know what to suggest.
Re: Internet/Internet site problems
Workaround: Put all the XML files in a ZIP and upload that.
You can use a free program, such as 7-Zip, to do so.

Re: Internet/Internet site problems
The message at the top still says up to 10 files at a time, but the error is saying up to one at a time. Something changed overnight.
Re: Internet/Internet site problems
I just did a test with Atalanta with 3 files and didn't have problems.
I'll try Northwind now.
Just uploaded 10 files to Northwind with no problem.
(though Michael's program may have some problems!)
Can you try a different computer, Gordon?

Re: Internet/Internet site problems
That helps to know. I'll try using Firefox instead. If that works, I probably just need to clear my browser cache.
Re: Internet/Internet site problems
It's working fine today.
It occurred to me that my Linux computer had done a restart to install an update between when it was and wasn't working. That must have corrupted the browser cache. I cleared the cache and restarted the browser. Now it's okay.
Thank you for the suggestion Chris, but I jump around transcribing on four different computers. So I like to upload my work at the end of each session so that I don't forget if I don't get back to the same computer for a while. It isn't worth the effort to zip just a few files each time. When it's working right, I just select the range of files and upload.
At some point I'd like to create a shortcut key to automatically upload a page when finished transcribing, rather than saving to the local disk and then uploading. Saving a local copy would still be an option. However, I'll have to learn how to work with the Google web interface API in order to do that. So I don't know when I will find the time to work on it.
