Burton Island (1951) -- Discussion: Questions, Comments and Coordination
Re: Burton Island (1951) -- Discussion: Questions, Comments and Coordination
Yes, ships spend quite a bit of time in port. However, according to the first page of the July log, you will finish the month at Point Barrow.
Re: Burton Island (1951) -- Discussion: Questions, Comments and Coordination
Some of the older ships would sit in foreign ports for several weeks, move to another port, sit there for a few more weeks and then they would return to the first port. As you can guess, desertions and incidents of drunkenness and other forms of rowdy behaviour became very common.

Hello, hope you all are doing well! Could I claim November 1951? Thanks!

I've marked it, as Reserved, on the Status Sheet.

Thanks all! I see on the tracker that the title page and log pages have been marked "nothing to transcribe" by most people. Just to double check, do I need to transcribe any of the information on the title page or log pages into the events box?
Re: Burton Island (1951) -- Discussion: Questions, Comments and Coordination
No.
I am glad you ask questions!
P.S.
Actually, you can transcribe anything you want to, but only the weather and location information are required.
Some people like to transcribe interesting events and/or post them in the forum to share with the rest of us

I'm making progress with July. The Burton Island is underway from San Diego so July 10th 1951 is my first sheet with real location and course change data to transcribe, if possible could someone take a look and see if I'm on the right track?

Good afternoon,
I have a line that says time change ahead one hour on the weather grid for line 2. I put a comment for it at the bottom. Do I put anything on line 2 weather wise? Or leave it blank?
Thanks!
