Events at the New Bedford Whaling Museum

Post by AvastMH »

It's that time of the year again!

The amazing New Bedford Whaling Museum MOBY-DICK MARATHON 2022

January 7-9, 2022 | Virtual
The 2022 Moby-Dick Marathon will be entirely virtual, but with all the same marathon fun and buzz!
One of the world’s best known readings of Herman Melville’s iconic American novel Moby-Dick takes place every January at the New Bedford Whaling Museum.

This year’s marathon will be entirely virtual, but that won’t stop literary aficionados, school children, and everyone in between from traveling back in time to accompany narrator Ishmael on the epic hunt for the elusive white whale.

I don't know if this counts as "events" but I just learned that the amazing comic artist and illustrator Kate Sheridan is going to be the Artist-in-Residence at the New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park from April-June. They are working on a new anthology-style graphic novel called Whalebones of spooky whaling stories. Something very cool to look forward to!
