Although it is rare, occasionally you will see an entry with both temperature and text.
In that case, please put a comma between the number and the text as shown above.
Spaces are optional.

If you don't mind, you could finish off March.
March is weather and events.

September weather done.

Has anyone claimed April? I think I have the weather transcription down, thought I might try weather and events.

April is available.
The events page is my favorite part, but it is true that it is a bit complicated.
If you haven't already, have a look at Burton Island -- Examples / Example 2: Sailing Information
I always check the people's first few transcriptions ;)

March 8 log page has some sea from, sea amount, swell from, and swell amount. Do does need transcribing?
Thank you!

No. You just need to transcribe Sea Temp Surf if it is entered - and/or mentions of ice.
Thanks for checking!

The science team like having data for the two sea surface temperatures, the ones in the weather grid and the ones in the table below, so they can derive a statistical relationship between the temperature of the water at the surface with the temperature of the water at the depth of the intake. ;)

I have the following information on a Deck Log - Remarks sheet. Are the USS HELENA, USS TOLEDO and USS CORSON ships met, or is this indicating individuals transferring from those ships to the Burton Island?
Pursuant to NavPers 563 #37-51 dated 2 April 1951 SMITH, Jack (n) 953 85 49 SN USNR was transferred with records and effects to Hospital Corps School at U.S. Naval Hospital San Diego, California. 0925 USS HELENA (CA-75) and USS TOLEDO (CA-133) with ComCruDiv THREES underway and stood out. Commanding Officer, USS CORSON (AVP-37) assumed duties of SOPA. Made daily inspection of magazines and somkeless powder samples. Conditions normal.

I would list all three with type Ships. No context is needed. The 'met' is implied.
Just "USS HELENA, USS TOLEDO, USS CORSON" as one entry with Type Ship and no Subtype.

It doesn't sound like anyone transferred between those ships and Burton Island.

Good work!

If you are game to try a handwritten log, McCulloch (1899) — Discussion: Questions, Comments and Coordination is available and not too difficult.

If you prefer to stay with typed logs, June of 1951 is available. However, most of our logs are handwritten....
