Glad to hear your Internet connection is better, Joan!
This is the image that pops into my head when I'm talking to Caro or Randi:

I'm not nearly that dressed up!
(and not quite that gray )

I love the lace! Do you have to earn it by years of service, like stripes in the forces? ;D ;D

Yup

It comes with a bit of arsenic for trouble makers.

Mwahahaha! Yes, I always dress like that while moderating.
I am a tad more casual at other times.

In my experience with the Yorktown typed logs are often worse than handwritten ones. The spacing is irregular, there are many typos and a fresh ribbon doesn't last long. When this is combined with slanted pages that are not aligned on the fold I was weeping like the poor little angel.

There's a fourth character lurking in the doorway. But I think that hanibal is the discerning chap with his coat on

I agree - I'm sure he's the guy in the coat

Yep, that's me alright! I can be quite a dapper gent when I want to.

Had not realized it took that much.. until i checked my first post on the discussion thread!
Yup, i was quite younger, with one less kid and one more dad (may he rest in peace - he did love history and he was just fascinated when i showed him OW) when i started this awesome voyage in her logbooks.
I'd be dead curious to see her transcripts, i wasn't used at all in transcriber's science (does a thing like that exist at all?), therefore i'd probably be a little ashamed in reading back my very first goofy attempts (i expect many typing and/or reading errors in more or less 20 years worth of logs). Also future editors will have an hard time reformatting events (since i had no way to add carriage returns in transcribing watches ).
Thank you Hanibal, the picture is very well placed, as pretty more every other you posted here
