Re: Transcriber Weather
Here we go again: Another storm-studded rain trough to sweep across Australia.
Heavy rain, flooding, thunderstorms set to batter NSW for eight days.
It is set to be another wet end to the week as a trough sweeps across the country.(Supplied: Jason Boyce)
and we are in a caravan next to a noisy construction site, just what we needed (not).

What caused Hobart's spooky Halloween sunset?
Photographer Wayne Painter said it was the most spectacular sunset cloud formation he had seen.(Supplied: Wayne Painter)
The beautiful and haunting layering effect was caused by lenticular clouds.
Tasmania's mountainous geography makes it particularly suited to their formation.
The angle of the sun at the time made the clouds look so spectacular, a BOM forecaster says.

Re: Transcriber Weather
The rain is raining all around,
It falls on field and tree,
It rains on the umbrellas here,
And on the ships at sea.

The rain quit here around 11:00 A.M., about four hours ago.
It has been quite a day around the province. Among other things, there is no road access out of Vancouver to the rest of the province, and numerous landslides have blocked the major highways:
Helicopters start rescue efforts after landslides trap dozens of vehicles near Agassiz. Up to 275 people have been stuck on Hwy 7 since late Sunday
Relentless rain causing flooding, road closures and evacuations across B.C.
Entire city of Merritt ordered to evacuate after flooding of wastewater treatment plant
Extreme rain floods homes, entire streets in southern B.C.
Woman trapped between landslides on B.C. highway: 'We don't know what's going to happen'
People build snowmen, spend night in vehicles after more major delays on Highway 93

Re: Transcriber Weather
Perfect timing! The first frost of the season is forecast here tonight.
Re: Transcriber Weather
First frost of the winter this morning. I haven't checked any records but it feels very late in the year, usually get a few in October.

Re: Transcriber Weather
We had a couple of white speckles on the grass last month but up North as you might say last night we had white roofs and hoar frost on the leaves and branches. On a personal level I don't miss frosts although it's nice to see them from inside a warm room or vehicle. In the Arctic I approve of frosts, I'd just prefer not to worry about slipping if I go to the recycling bins or bird feeders.
Re: Transcriber Weather
We briefly had a few tiny white specks coming down a few days ago and again last night, but they disappeared as soon as they touched the ground.
