While in the middle of a serious transcribing session, transcriber receives a serious PM from a moderator.
Helen J wrote:Mon Sep 12, 2016 6:29 pm Definitely serious if the mod has come round to deliver it in person!
AvastMH wrote:Mon Sep 12, 2016 6:33 pm I love the way the moderator is so humbly dressed and courteously handing over the note to the exhaulted and finely attired transcriber.
As it should be eh? ;) :D

The Mods set out in search of new Logs to keep us busy.
Hanibal94 wrote:Fri Oct 21, 2016 5:04 pm I didn't know the mods wore such big hats
AvastMH wrote:Fri Oct 21, 2016 7:13 pm Hey those hats are really important - you see the hairy bit at the top? That detects wind direction and speed.
The peak at the front collects rain, tips it off the head so rainfall can be accurately assessed by dint of it running down your face.
The horse has the pocket barometer.
And the sword? Oh that's for cutting the cheese slices for lunch.

The problem with this one 'You and your least favorite ship.' is that a clever person is going to fish it out of the reeds and make it terribly famous and very powerful. That'll make it nigh on impossible to ignore :o

The second one is spooky - that looks so much like a mobile phone in his hand. It really does
Craig wrote:

The fishing line in the little girl's hands doesn't bode well for diagnosing the problem.

I know!
I looked up the painting - Interieur, by Pieter de Hooch - and that's supposed to be a letter in his hand. But I can't stop seeing a cell phone.
AvastMH wrote:Tue Nov 08, 2016 8:00 pm It's almost impossible not to see a mobile - it's the dimensions. I'm sure this is something that a social science doctorate could be based on. :D

OW moderator to Zooniverse developer: "Please, please PLEASE keep the outdated software of OW Classic running! We're almost done!"
Hanibal94 wrote:Tue Nov 29, 2016 8:37 pm Okay - looks like most people have misunderstood what I was trying to say, so here's some clarification:
The skull is the outdated, frequently-crashing software that OW Classic depends upon.
The developer is examining said software, but is horrified at how old and flimsy it has become.

I sure hope OW Classic can hold on long enough for us to finish it.
