I like your style with the puzzle Chris :)
I tried 'multiply by two', then multiply sequential prime numbers by 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. Then tried the previous sequence in reverse order. Then just tiddled around the same number until the 'must be an increasing' thing popped into my mind. :)

Lovely waterfall Stuart :)

Stuart, What a picture! If it is not that she is a professional photographer, she should submit it to someplace like the National Geographic Soc or the Australian Tourist Bureau. Very Nice.

That would be a great picture for the Australian Weather Calendar that's put out by the BOM every year.

Super Flower Full Moon Luna eclipse tonight down our way.

"Totality will last a little over 14 minutes, making it the 10th shortest totality for any lunar eclipse between the years 1600 and 2599.

In terms of the total worldwide duration of the eclipse, which includes partial and penumbral phases, the May 26 event is even more exceptional: it is the 2nd shortest of all 693 total lunar eclipses in the same 1000-year timespan."

Quite often I see we have a Bot from BING (I assume it is from the BING search engine) logged in to the forum?
Anybody know why.

It is not there just now.

Apparently this is likely to be due to someone searching for information. We've had a few people finding important information from us about family members and I think that involves things like the Bing bot and Google bot that show up now and then.

I mentioned seeing one of them a month or so ago:

So far I have not heard sweet warbling coming from the forum when Bing Bot is around ;) :D

Expect to see bots 🤖 (or spiders 🕷️ ) from Bing, Google, and other search engines on our site every so often. They get here by following links to our site from other web sites, scan our pages for anything they may include in their future search results, and follow any links on our pages.

Thanks for the explanation, Gordon!

There is a Bing [Bot] here right now, and it is listed as a registered user.

They must be programmed to detect when registration is necessary for access to part or all of a web site. I'm guessing they will attempt to register automatically and if unsuccessful get a human involved to set up the account.

I just saw the Bing Bot now, listed as a registered user. However, we do not have any users registered with that name and unlike the listed registered users, the Bing Bot did not have a link to it's profile. So I'm guessing that the forum software detects bots and just displays them with the registered users when they are connected. When you connect to a web site, a lot of information about you automatically gets sent to the site. So the forum software should have no trouble detecting when it is a bot that is connected.

They are a type like Registered Users and Global Moderators.
It looks like they were all added when Bob set up the forum.
Group members :: Bots

This is a complete listing of all the members of this usergroup. It includes separate sections for leaders, pending and existing members. From here you can manage all aspects of who has membership of this group and what their role is. To remove a leader but keep them in the group use Demote rather than delete. Similarly use Promote to make an existing member a leader.

That explains it. It's good to have them visiting because they can route potential new members to the site.

Someone who arrives here as the result of a search may end up no telling where in the forum. If they were curious to find out more about the project, they might click on the oldWeather logo at the top left. That takes you to the Board Index. I don't know whether it's possible, but it would be good if there could be a link at the top to oldweather.org for information about the project.

If that's not possible, maybe a topic at the top of the board index with a name indicating that it contains information about the project.

I had a look, but there doesn't seem to be any way to do that.
