This is the second of three articles about the melting glaciers in B. C. and Alaska. I'm posting this because of the wonderful video halfway down the article. Watch a grizzly bear fish for salmon; the video is wonderful! There is also a six second video tour of Knight Inlet near the bottom. Scary situation with that fine balance of how melt water creates the whole water ecosystem for such a huge area. The dam/hydropower option looks interesting, but it can't scour rock into fine silt. Someone did a study of chemicals in trees and discovered that they pick up fish chemicals from the bears pooping in the woods. Who thought to test this out I don't know. But the serious side is that if the fish fail and the bears fail, the trees might fail too?

I went to the farmer's market this morning. Everyone is masked and social distancing and people seem to be taking it good-naturedly.
Here in Pennsylvania they don't have too many fruits and vegetables yet, but you can get bread, cheese, cookies, "canned" foods (in glass jars
), prepared foods, plants, soap, ....

Me too - at first, I thought it was powers of two!
But I tested a bunch of cases, and worked out what it really was.
I think my experience as a software developer may have helped - we do automated tests for "yes" and "no" results (An example of the latter would be making sure errors are handled correctly)
