wow what a photo shot! Even has that famous Green flash in the sunset very lovely.
I have a question: In reading things in the past year I ran across the name "Moosebrugger" somewhere. It struck me because I know someone by that very uncommon name. I ran into the individual I know today and YES his grandfather was Commander Fredrick Moosebrugger. I see Googling his name that he was in the Aleutians during WWII. Does anyone have a better memory than I have? Have you run across the Commander?

Hi Morgan - is that 'Moosbrugger' rather than 'Moosebrugger' please?
I don't recall the name myself. But I did notice that Wiki uses the spelling without an 'e'.

Thanks for the help, anyway. I was glad to find our so much about a colleague's grandfather. Decorated Vice Admiral with ship named for him. The fellow I know is studious and personal.

I just got a little more information. Shares become available once the project has been built and online. It only costs $20 US per share per month and then you get a monthly credit to your power bill according to how much power your share has generated that month. They point out that summer will likely generate more power than winter.
The first of these projects will be available in a few months.
It will be interesting to see whether a share will generate more power than the cost of the share. If so, it's a far easier way for homeowners or apartment dwellers to indirectly get solar power.

That does sound amazing Gordon. Certainly encourages the support of the right kind of energy. Just out of interest - they do use solar power to do all those calculations, they must do surely? In which case they should rush to help those daft bitcoin things.

On a cost/kWh your $20 would earn more in a 1mW system than in a 100kW system when infrastructure costs are amortised.
If you are just buying a part of one panel for $20 then don't expect a big return soon but over the years I think it should work out OK.

More sun could = more bush fires = less solar power from hazy skies.

There are two of the solar projects currently under construction and due to be completed soon.
A 200 kW system is being installed on the roof of a high school and will have 135 shares.
A much bigger 5 MW solar array is being constructed east of the Cascades, where there is much more sun. It will have 3,400 shares.
I plan to invest in them. It will be interesting to see whether I come out ahead.
