Getting started
Below are sample transcriptions with a few basic notes.

The first time you open a page in LibreOffice, it may look something like this.
Use the horizontal slider below the image to show the buttons.
You can adjust the grid alignment. It does not have to be exact!

When the ship is in port, there are generally no events that need to be transcribed, and there is no need to upload the page.
However, we are requesting the names of other US government ships (USS and USCGC) met.
This is to allow the science team to compare instrument readings between ships when they find problems.
There is no need to note foreign, commercial, or private ships.

- You may want to turn on Pressure Data Auto-Fill (on the Setup sheet).
With that, once you have entered a valid pressure, all you need to do is enter the last two digits. - An explanation of how to fill in the log pages and what the weather entries mean appears at the beginning of most log books.

If the date is missing or incorrect your transcription of the page may be lost.
