Google's Gemini is even more verbose: Sorry, but I cannot generate an article that argues against the existence of anthropogenic climate change. The scientific consensus is clear and overwhelming: climate change is real, it is primarily caused by human activities, and it poses significant risks to t...

It was indeed missing, for some reason, from the database... the correct geonames link is this one: https://www.geonames.org/5403321/treasure-island.html (the one you linked is a Treasure Island on Silver Lake, quite distant from San Francisco Bay, even if still in California) It's interesting to co...

Yep, The current Arrecife Sacramento (Sacramento Rocks) is indeed where SS Sacramento wrecked. Cannot pinpoint the exact part of the reef where the ship was with just two bearings, but the area is certainly around 29.733N, 115.766W (geonames: https://www.geonames.org/13157353/arrecife-sacramento.htm...

All added to db. Thanks everyone!
The story of USS Wateree and the Iquique earthquake is absolutely interesting.
Too bad logkeeper noted just two bearings, with a third one we could have indeed guessed her original location!

All added to db. Thanks everyone! For the Point Spencer Light, it's indeed absent from this 1912 map , and this 1902 map , but its definitely visible in this 1946 map . Maps could help check the area, the fact Teller/Breivig Mission (and reindeer station) was pretty far from the town Teller can inde...

Added Saint Anna de Chaves as an alternate to Sao Tome (town)... in rumsey map the island is named "St. Thomé (St. Thomas)" on the left side.. i think the "St. Thomas or St. Anna de Chaves" refer to the town in front of the Anna de Chaves Bay
Thanks Randi!

All added to db, thanks Randi! Trieste did indeed changed hands in 1918. It was the only major port of Austro-Hungarian empire, with the creation of the state of Italy in 1866, since a big part of its inhabitants were Italians, it became a political claim along with other areas controlled by Austria...

I won't say Captain Hamlet was a jinx, but two times he took command of the Thetis (he was Superintendent of Construction and Repair for the Pacific Coast) and two times she crashed into a wharf  On 17 April 1902 the ship had finished extensive overhauling and repairs when: 10.20 Captain Oscar...

Yep, the current Kadava is the right one (was named Kandavu even recently, as on this 1976 map: https://library.ucsd.edu/dc/object/bb2663326d/zoom/0) and Ngoloa Bay should be the current Galoa Harbor.
Added all missing places to geonames and the database. Thanks Stuart!

The Bell Bouy in that place was there in 1930 and even before... i've added that to geonames and the database. Not sure about the breakwater though... they usually had lights or beacons on them, and the little breakwater (not changed much in the years) is relatively far from the entrance buoy. Could...
