In this current time when Fantasy is a popular genre, I see the picture with lots of duality and subplots; but that is an old one. How very creative for a time when realism was the topic of the day. And yes, Don't drink the water!

OW'er using three Place references in an attempt to decipher an extremely difficult location.

Been there, done that - had a couple times where I was not sure if a place was in Canada, Alaska or the continental US!

What's missing is that fourth, ever elusive, listing with all the truly weird names that the old sailors were so familiar with. He may have that tucked around his person but, with all of that Tudor kit on, you'd never know ;)
Perhaps that piece of paper is a clue..hmmm....

Slightly embarrassed to say that this is one (Cranmer) of the three bishops (+Latimer, +Ridley) that we burned at the the stake (one stake, three bishops) in Oxford. We don't do that sort of thing anymore...promise! :D

Joan, One again You launched me into reading up on English history. I get distracted too easily. Students in my time in US schools learned "World History" and American History. World history covered lots on Greece, the Persian Empire and Rome. American History started with Christopher Columbus and skipped all of Britain's history until the 1750's. It didn't cover any of Californian history (where I now live.) I am of at least half English/ Irish descent and should claim your history as my own, I suppose, but I find it confusing, not knowing all the figures too well. I am starting a timeline to piece together nuggets of interest so I can gain a better picture. I see your current government and Monarchy very orderly, it is hard to imagine a time when Bishop Crammer was executed. Oh, and my family likely puts me on the wrong side of history on that particular event.
He certainly has a scholarly gaze.

Sorry Morgan! :D Oh, the whole religion thing during the later Tudor period is difficult because they didn't have a second hand on a watch in order to time how long you'd get in the Church of England or the Catholic Church before you had to swap again  Definitely not a time I'd want to travel back to ;)

OW'ers refuse to let a comrade leave the project: "You promised to stay with us until your last dying day, and we will MAKE SURE you keep that promise!"
