I thought I understood the conversions between the US system and the metric system, but I must be missing some subtle point.
When I look at metric it says snow showers. When I look at the US it says cloudy.

Window says cloudy...

Metric now says cloudy.

I had seen a few crocuses over the past week, but today I saw lots of daffodils just starting to come out.

Lots of daffodils out here, my forsythia is showing yellow flowers, not fully open yet and the flowing currant is showing deep pink buds. My neighbours tree is covered in white blossom and it was warm enough to sit out in the garden without a jacket. The next couple of weeks looks as if it will be warm, not quite as warm as today most of the time but definitely warm for the time of year. It spurred me to do some tidying in the garden. Can't really see any transformation but the garden waste bin has a satisfying thick layer at the bottom so I must have achieved something

I did see one forsythia with a few flowers open, but they didn't look very healthy.

We've had daffodils and a variety of blossoms for two or three weeks now. Lots of forsythia, too. :) :) :)

Ha Ha about Pittsburg's "normal."
Last October, at my Father's burial, I took crocuses to plant knowing I would likely not be able to travel across country this year to decorate his and my Mother's graves ( in Central Illinois.) Thanks for all the flower updates, I had been wondering if the flowers would be up and blooming. Lots of things are blooming in me garden in Southern California; it is Spring- but not exactly the same. Thanks.

Hit a new daily record of 37.8 C in Long Beach yesterday. My body wasn't ready for it. Old daily record was 33.9. By managing the doors and windows, I can keep the house temp comfortable for 3 hot days in a row- then it seeps in. Getting measured for new sliding door next week. The mallard duck laying in the front garden won't need to sit on the nest. Need to go shut the door and check the tomato plants.

Signs of spring here:
  • Double decker tour buses are running;
  • more roof racks on cars have canoes and kayaks than skis and snow boards.
:D

High here yesterday was 25 C. Forecast low for tonight is 3 C and very stormy next few days, with possible thunderstorms, hail, and small chance of snow.

Wind is picking up, lights flickering, and lots of sirens. Trees have their leaves now. So they're having a rougher time with the wind.

Very unusual weather for the Seattle area, but does happen now and then.
