Glad I did not take the caravan up to Queensland.
Up to 80,000 homes flooded.

Thanks for the thoughts.
If the BOM is correct then the deepening low and amplified upper trough should drift southward parallel to the coast.
They think the worst should miss my region and effect the coastal areas further southward.
They are still coping it up north.

At the bottom of that page is an interesting article on Solar storms.

Stuart, I saw your post about the flooding north of you and today saw a news report of flooding in Sydney. As I understand- you must have been in the direct path. Hoping everything is OK with you.

Where I am has faired well with the weather, some areas north and south have copped a beating with flooding up to the roof level.
We only had 73mm yesterday, some areas have had 700+ in 24hrs.
The rain seems to be diminishing now but it will take a long time to sort out the mess.
Thanks for your thoughts.

Oh dear! Between fires and floods your area is suffering. Honestly it looks like you need full blown waders :( :( :(

Had lunch outside in the garden although it was frosty overnight. Two pigeons obviously thought spring had arrived with much head bobbing and beak clacking including beak to beak contact then a brief mounting followed by a startled 'Good heavens that human was WATCHING' and flurry of wings.

Woke up to about 6 inches of snow this morning.
Spent the last half hour or so sweeping the snow and chopping the ice off the flight of wood slat stairs that are my only exit.
My fingers don't quite bend right for typing - not that I am much of a typist normally.
