Please note, I am not really complaining, but we hit a high of 30 C degrees today- Humidity is 10%. Actually, my nose IS complaining. I suppose if I was out and about and wore my face mask the dry air would not be so bad. Clouds with silver lining concept.

I saw an article in the news about how you will probably shatter a few maximum temperature records. I think San Diego issued a heat warning!!! February???

Not sure this is "weather" but seemed to fit here best.

Did you folks in the Vancouver area see this rouge wave? I supposed you had to be standing there at the right moment. I hope someone come up with a picture of it

The article says it was back in November 2020, so I don't remember anything about it. The Pacific Ocean does get major rogue waves.

Good luck to any members down South. We had a potential amber wind alert yesterda. Yes, it was breezy but I've been in worse and it stopped several hours earlier than the original forecast. Today's yellow warning was removed overnight. Some people did have problems and there were trees down on railway lines but overall not as bad as the forecast. So, all I can say is that I hope the latest storm is like that for you. Not quite as bad as forecast and round here, at least, no significant damage.

The storm had passed here, south of London, by about 5pm. It started around 10am.
Damage has been limited to fallen trees and fences in this neighbourhood.
I think we got off lightly.
The storm is now battering Belgium and the Netherlands, I believe.

Record of the day: On the Isle of Wight, a gust of 122mph [196 kmh], measured at an exposed point on the west of the island, set a provisional record for England.

4 persons died, all hit by blown over trees.
A lot of damage.
Countless trees downed, damaging cars, railroads, and buildings, also roofs ripped off buildings and lorries blown over.

Speeds up to 145 km/h have been measured.
Rather unusual, these speeds were measured inland.
Normally it's the coast that sees the highest winds.

On a happy note, an 18-year old girl living in the south-west of the country received quite a bit of media coverage.
Her name: Eunice Storm. :D

The wind wasn't too bad in NW England yesterday, but we've now got snow - proper big fluffy flakes! Temperature is about 3C so it probably won't stick. More high winds forecast for Sunday and Monday.

It's 4C here, and we had a bit of snow this morning. It disappeared almost as quickly as it fell.

We've had two fronts go through. First left hail holes in my newly planted lettuce and did not fully cover the bottom of my rain gauge. Second brought a chilly day and no rain. We are watching a Monarch chrysalis that's just about ready to open- I think it must be waiting for a little warmer sunnier day.

The wind died down here this afternoon as Franklin trotted out of sight. The sun came out and it was warm. If time had allowed I'd have put my chair outside for a cuppa :)

Woke up this morning in Northern Virginia and the weather app on my phone says it will be a high of 67oF today and tomorrow will be in the 30s and sleeting. This has got to be the 4th time (at least) we've had that kind of weather change from one day to the next this winter. Absolutely maddening.

On the plus side, the wind seems to have finally died down. It never got quite as bad here as in the U.K., but Friday I did spend the better part of the day chasing garbage bins and garbage down the street and it was absolutely frigid then.
