Yea, I kind of feel sorry for the scientists on this one, she devotes more effort to their visitors, gifts of flowers, walks on deck and sewing than she does on weather and ice. She uses plenty of ink though, it is easy to read.

Is Stream C still available here (minus the part Pearl worked on)? I wrapped up the Orca and I'm looking for a new ship so I'll gladly take on sections A-C of Stream C if they need doing.

The free sections are still free. They are non-sea-ice but will make a fascinating break from the usual, especially because they are written by the Capt's daughter. You won't get place names/lat long, but you will get plenty of ships names if I recall correctly.
Just about everything else involves that same over-winter 1897-9 debacle. It'll be great to get those done, but a break from it must be welcome

So far it seems like she does mention some ice (not with specific terms like a mate or captain would) and location names. And she's fairly diligent about ship names, the weather, and the whale count. But, yeah, no lat/long that I can see and no cardinal directions so far. Still fun, though. I always like how each ship's book fills in a little more of the story of their surrounding ships as well.

Oh you'll get that, and plenty of embroidery.
Of course it's perfectly possible that embroidery and making cushions were happening on a lot of the whalers, and not always by the captain's wife and or daughter, but we may never know
