Oof, between that punch and the cake we're all gonna be floating.

OH! THANK YOU, THANK YOU! THANK YOU. I was gone for a week visiting my new (first) grandbaby (and my daughter and son-in-law) and come back to great e-treats. Thanks for all the lovely sentiments.

It seems wrong to be so elated with another year when some many are in such terrible circumstances. My sympathy to all who lost homes in the fire, and of course all who are caught up one way or another in the pandemic. In the New Year, Stay safe and well, all.
Morgan.

It's that time of year again! Strangely the BBC is showing 'In the Heart of the Sea' tonight (the film of the book of the journey that inspired 'Moby Dick')

The amazing New Bedford Whaling Museum MOBY-DICK MARATHON 2022

January 7-9, 2022 | Virtual
The 2022 Moby-Dick Marathon will be entirely virtual, but with all the same marathon fun and buzz!
'One of the world’s best known readings of Herman Melville’s iconic American novel Moby-Dick takes place every January at the New Bedford Whaling Museum.'

'This year’s marathon will be entirely virtual, but that won’t stop literary aficionados, school children, and everyone in between from traveling back in time to accompany narrator Ishmael on the epic hunt for the elusive white whale.'

So what's wrong with that, eh? Enjoy! :D

Star chocolate cake for a star Old Weatherer - nice one Randi! :)

If it's all too much chocolate Kathy, you can rely on the help of your fellow transcribers ;) ;)

Happy Birthday Kathy! and many happy more! Capricorns are special people. (Yes, we are.)
And If that's too much chocolate, I understand there is a tradition of sharing chocolate with needy ships on your course. - didn't even know that would be something found onboard. Stay safe.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes! It was a very nice day - with chocolate, naturally! And, the Cowboys danced a jig on the Eagles!

I hope everyone here at Old Weather is doing well - I keep trying to load the newish software on my computer, and it doesn't work (which is embarrassing considering what I do for a living  )

Hi Michael, just found out from Randi it's your birthday. Since it's already the 10th where I am, here's greetings before I rush off for night shift (meteorological picture for you from WMO 2022 calendar ;) ) :owl:

Happy Birthday
